The 4070 Ti has more CUDA cores but less VRAM and a narrower bus. The 9070 XT has more memory bandwidth and newer architecture. Both target the same performance class.
Rasterization
In raster, the RX 9070 XT is roughly 15–25% faster than the RTX 4070 Ti at 1440p and 4K. Its wider memory bus, more VRAM, and RDNA 4’s architectural improvements give it a real lead.
The 4070 Ti is still a strong 1440p card and handles entry 4K. But the 9070 XT’s extra bandwidth helps in the newest titles.

Ray tracing

New at $599, the 9070 XT is a solid value — faster in raster, more VRAM, and modern features.
Used at $500–600, the 4070 Ti is similarly priced. It’s a strong card with DLSS 3, but the 9070 XT’s raster and VRAM advantages make it the better new buy.
At MSRP, the 9070 XT is the better card. At current used prices, the 4070 Ti is competitive but not clearly better.
The verdict
The RX 9070 XT is the better card for raster gaming. It’s faster, has more VRAM, and supports FSR 4. For 1440p and 4K raster, it’s the better pick.
The RTX 4070 Ti is competitive in ray tracing and has DLSS 3, which remains the best upscaling solution. For RT-heavy gaming, it’s a strong alternative.
The decision comes down to workload. For raster and VRAM, the 9070 XT. For RT and DLSS, the 4070 Ti is close.
