The 5060 is a 2025 Blackwell card on a modern node, with newer features but a narrow 128-bit bus. The benchmark data paints a picture that contradicts the spec sheet: the older 3070 Ti is often faster in raw rasterization, while the 5060 wins decisively on efficiency and modern feature support.

The specifications tell a story of trade-offs. The RTX 3070 Ti has 6,144 CUDA cores, 8 GB of GDDR6X memory on a 256-bit bus, and a 290W TDP . The RTX 5060 has 3,840 CUDA cores, 8 GB of GDDR7 memory on a 128-bit bus, and a 145W TDP . The 3070 Ti has 60% more shader units and 50% more memory bandwidth (608 GB/s vs 448 GB/s) . Value depends on what you already have. The 3070 Ti launched at $599 in 2021 and now trades used for around $295 . The 5060 launched at $299 in 2025 and sells new for that price . If you already own a 3070 Ti, there is no compelling reason to upgrade to a 5060 for raw performance. If you are buying new, the 5060 offers the same rasterization tier, dramatically lower power draw, and access to DLSS 4—which future games will increasingly assume.

Short version:
Choose the RTX 5060 if you are building new, want lower power draw and a quieter system, or care about DLSS 4 frame generation in modern titles. It is the more sensible purchase at $299.
Choose the RTX 3070 Ti only if you already own one, or find a used example at a significant discount and do not care about frame generation or efficiency. Its slightly higher raw rasterization does not justify buying into a four-year-old platform at near-retail prices.
